MY RUNNING/QUOTES

Spring of 2009, after my third child, I started running. The first time I ran I could NOT run from one mailbox to the next!! I could hardly breath and felt as if I needed a "butt bra". It was awful. Slowly I went from mostly walking to kind-of jogging! August 2009 I ran my first 5K and knew I loved running. I tagged myself as a "runner" in my 2009 Christmas card-- "BECAUSE WE ARE THE STORIES WE TELL OURSELVES... ABOUT OURSELVES".

2009 I started running- and ran my first 5K
2010 was my first 10K
2011 was my first and second Half Marathon
2012 was my first Tri - Iron Girl and my first, 1st place

Life is cyclical so it makes sense to pay attention to, and embrace, periods of rest and rejuvenation; periods of work and sweat.  Noticing these patterns have helped me in all parts of my life.  Running has taught me to enjoy the simple things in life. It, somehow, reminds me to take advantage of time, opportunities and moments. When I run I always try to feel the sun on my skin and just "be". I try to remember that I am doing this because I "can". Of course, there are those times when you are exhausted, grunting, moving your body as fast as it can go... throw up in your mouth, swallow... and keep on running!!

MAKES ME CRY:
RUNNING QUOTES:
Life is rough so you gotta be tough.

Ask yourself. Will all this matter a year from now.
Passion is pushing yourself when no one else is around.
SHE is clothed in strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.
If you can't find the light at the end of the tunnel, it could be because you are the light.
You don't always get what you wish for. You get what you work for.
